It was a terrific day for English yesterday! Over 28 students present between our two classes! If you are interested in volunteering to teach English in Immokalee, let us know! We would love to have you.
Last week we had the privilege to baptize the Soriano children in Immokalee, adding three more members to the family of God! Immigrant families often feel lonely here, far from their family, and it is exciting to connect them to their extended family of God.

We would like to thank everyone who attended our open house on May 19th to celebrate our recent renovations in Immokalee. During our open house, Bonnie Williamson-Craven was presented with a plaque as a token of appreciation for her selfless contributions of time, talent and funding for our Center in Immokalee. As we settle into our newly remodeled space, we pray for continued growth in our outreach in sharing the Gospel as well as growth in our English and adult education programs.
See our previous post with pictures from the renovations.

Olga and her husband Luis (speakers at our annual banquet in March) proudly smile with her certificate of naturalization! Olga became a US Citizen on May 3, 2012. Amigos Center helped Olga, Luis and their two children become US Citizens!
Couples in Bonita Springs and Immokalee enjoyed a great weekend of marriage enrichment activities on April 27 to 29. Mark Kempff, of the Center for Hispanic Studies at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis led a weekend workshop for more than 17 families. This activity is part of our ongoing effort to reach out to Hispanic couples with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. More than twenty children also participated in special activities designed for them while their parents participated in the workshops. If the father and the mother are strong in their love and support for each other, their children will flourish. Two couples who are currently receiving pre-marriage instruction from Pastor Selle also attended the weekend events.
In the month of May we plan on launching a third cycle of weekend Marriage Enrichment Retreats involving a group of ten families.
