Amigos Center Launches $50,000.00 Challenge Grant Campaign
We have been blessed to have an initial matching challenge of up to $50,000.00 met by an anonymous donor. This individual believes in the work and purpose of Amigos en Cristo and wants to see it continue on for many years to come. He is challenging you to contemplate the mission and vision of Amigos en Cristo and he is challenging you to look within yourselves to give above and beyond your pledge this year. If you are ready to rise to the challenge then donate today! Every dollar matters, will you rise to the challenge?
Since 1997 Amigos Center has been meeting the spiritual, physical and legal needs of the immigrant community of Southwest Florida.
Our Spanish and Haitian Creole language congregations meet in multiple locations in Lee and Collier County.
Our Amigos Center in Immokalee annually provides over 5,000 clients and their families with emergency food,
clothing and English classes each year.
Our professionally staffed, low cost legal immigration service office in Fort Myers has served over 13,000 clients to date. Amigos Center
Immigration Services is pleased to be a partner agency of the United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades and Okeechobee Counties.
Your timely gift will be matched dollar for dollar and will help ensure that the Amigos Center may continue to offer these services to the benefit of many immigrant families as they work to succeed here in the United States.
OTHER WAYS OF GIVING
Make A Qualified Charitable Distribution
A QCD is a direct transfer of funds from your IRA custodian, payable to a qualified charity. QCDs can be counted toward satisfying your required minimum distributions (RMDs) for the year, as long as certain rules are met. In addition to the benefits of giving to charity, a QCD excludes the amount donated from taxable income, which is unlike regular withdrawals from an IRA. Keeping your taxable income lower may reduce the impact to certain tax credits and deductions, including Social Security and Medicare. Please call us for more information.
To make a donation over the phone, you can call us at 239-437-6727.
If you are a Thrivent Financial member with Choice Dollars to direct, you can help our church continue its ministry here and reach out to the greater community. Simply direct Choice Dollars to Amigos en Cristo Lutheran Mission. We plan to use these grant funds to provide immigrants to Southwest Florida with the tools to be successful and contributing members of our community and the Kingdom of God. You can make your direction online at www.thrivent.com (click on “Thrivent choice” on The “Membership and Benefits” tab) to direct your Thrivent Choice Dollars to Amigos Center.
